TESTING
PROCEDURES IN MAS90 AND MAS200
This is a question we often hear on our
technical support line. Many times, clients wish to test a new
procedure but do not want this to change their data until they are sure it
will work correctly. To do this, we suggest creating a
"test" company with your data using the SVDATA utility within
MAS90/MAS200.
Once you create the test company, you can
change companies in your MAS system to try the procedure you wish to
test. Be sure to verify you are in the test company in the
lower left corner of your MAS screen. Also, it is important to be
sure no one inputs "legitimate" information on your terminal
until you have switched back to the "real" or "live"
company.
To make it more obvious you are working in
the test company, you may want to change the banner on the reports using report
format maintenance or change the color of the screens in the
test company using Custom Office.
