THE
MAS90 AND MAS200 TASK MENU
MAS 90 and MAS 200 allow
users to create Task Menus to help quickly access specific MAS functions
or external programs that are used frequently or in conjunction with one
another. For example, you may need to open Invoice History Inquiry
several times a day. This function can be added to your MAS task
menu for quick access. Another example would be creating a
list of reports necessary to run prior to Period End Processing. By
creating a Task to run the reports, they can be printed quickly and easily
from one location.
There are two types of
tasks available in MAS 90 and 200, Public and Private. To create
Public Tasks, go to Modules/Library Master/Utilities/Task Menu
Maintenance. At Task Menu, type in a name for this new task to
appear on the menu. At Application, select whether the task will be
a link to an external program, such as Excel, or a MAS Application
function. Under Task ID, select the MAS function within the
module you selected. The Description Field will automatically be
populated once Task ID is selected. If you selected an External
program, enter a description, then at Program, enter the command line for
the program. If you have several items that are associated with one
task, click on New and add them as needed.

To create Private Tasks,
open Task Menu Maintenance either through File/Task Menu, or click on the
icon on the toolbar, select Edit and follow the instructions
above. When you view the Task Menu, private tasks will be
shown with a (p) following the title.
Once you have created new
tasks, you will need to exit and re-open MAS 90 or 200 at the workstation
in order for them to appear on the menu.
Note, all company,
module, menu and option restrictions assigned to users in Menu Security
Maintenance override all Task Menu assignments.
For additional
information on setting up and using the Task Menu, please refer to your
MAS 90 or MAS 200 manual or the help screens.
