TIP
UPDATE - SVDATA UTILITY
**NOTE:
As of the release of Version 3.50, the SUDATA Utility has been renamed to
SVDATA.
SVDATA is a very handy utility
included in MAS90 and MAS200 allowing you to copy data from one company to
another by module.
An important reminder: SVDATA
should only be
used to supplement your normal backup routine. It should NEVER
be used in place of your normal backups.
Before executing the SVDATA program:
To perform the
SVDATA in MAS90 3.3x and above, go to
File/Run. At program name, type SVDATA and click on OK.
You will now be at the Source Data Screen.
Use the magnifying glass to look up the company you wish to copy the data
from. Once you select the company, click next to go to the
applications screen. MAS90 will list all the modules which this company has data.
Select which modules you wish to copy and click next. You will now be
at the Destination Company screen. With the new Windows interface, you are now able
to select one company or multiple companies to copy the data to by holding down the Shift
or Control keys as you select with your mouse. You are also able to create a new
company on the fly if you did not create the company prior to starting
SVDATA.
BE SURE YOU DO NOT ENTER A COMPANY CODE THAT ALREADY HAS DATA UNLESS
YOU WANT THE INFORMATION TO BE OVERWRITTEN. Once you select the destination
company(s), click next. You will now be at the copy data screen. MAS90 will
allow you to copy the data or forms, or both. Note, SVDATA will not copy your
Crystal forms, it will only copy the standard MAS90 non graphical form layouts.
Select whether you want to copy the data, forms or both and click next.
This will bring you to the final confirmation screen. If you agree to what
MAS90 is confirming to copy, click finish. If you need to make changes, click Back
or Cancel to start over.
To verify the data copied successfully, change
to the new company code and look up the data in the modules you selected.
*NOTE: These instructions
presume that you have a working knowledge of MAS90 and a clear understanding of the
company structures. It is essential that you understand the above instructions prior to
executing the SVDATA program. Accuvar assumes no responsibility for any data loss or
downtime caused by performing the SVDATA program.
